Fellows in the Winterthur Program in American Material Culture have access to an enormous array of Museum, University, and regional resources. These resources are so extensive that it is impossible to capture all the possibilities.
Depending on their interests, Fellows may participate in museum internships and architectural field surveys that teach professional skills and provide practical training. They might learn to draw plans in CAD, use GIS software, work with antique and auction houses, help editors of the Winterthur Portfolio, explore scientific testing of materials with conservators and scientists, or assist museum staff.
The following links will acquaint readers with some, but not all, of the opportunities. Fellows select from these opportunities to craft educational experiences that build upon the core curriculum to meet their own intellectual and professional goals.
